Pennoni awarded oceanfront survey contract in Long Branch

By ,

Pennoni Associates, an ENR Top 100 engineering firm with offices in Edison and Vineland has been awarded a contract by the City of Long Branch to carry out an oceanfront survey of its beaches, boardwalk and eastern-most roadways. The survey will include the beachfront bluff that was damaged by Hurricane Sandy.

According to the release, the survey will use airborne and ground-based Lidar as well as high definition laser scanning. After assessing the conditions of the bluff, which helps to support the boardwalk, the survey will help Long Branch choose a new design for it. Pennoni will additionally survey the five roads that extend from Ocean Avenue to Ocean Boulevard to assess the damage from the storm.
