Yogi Berra would be on the NJBIZ 2013 Power 100 list if former Gov. Tom Kean had his way.

In our latest installment of Suite Escape, Kean named the Yankees great when asked who should be No. 100 on the list of New Jersey's most powerful people. The list is compiled, ranked and written by Managing Editor Joe St. Arney and me, and selecting No. 100 can command more attention than any other spot on the list. Joe and I are always going for a quirky pick for the last spot, someone who embodies power in a less apparent way than the Chris Christies and George Norcrosses of New Jersey.

This year, we sought input not just from our most trusted—and, this is key, candid—sources, but also our January Suite Escape panelists. The four panelists came up with some wonderfully fun and quirky suggestions, but, alas, No. 100 is someone else this year.

Find out who No. 100 is, along with the other 99, when our annual Power 100 list publishes Mon. Jan. 28.
