Smart cities technology and media company Intersection has signed a new seven-year contract with New Jersey Transit to sell and display advertising across heavy rail, light rail and bus vehicles and facilities, with an option for a three-year extension.
The contract includes new displays and interactive kiosks to help riders navigate the system.
Systemwide improvements will include installing and upgrading digital displays and adding new IxNTouch interactive information kiosks, giving riders greater access to real-time transit updates, local information, wayfinding and other useful content.
IxNConnect, Intersection’s transit communications platform, will allow New Jersey Transit to communicate with its customers in real-time across its network of digital screens and target messages by line, station, and even down to the individual display. This follows the installation of IxNTouch kiosks at select rail and light rail station platforms, which New Jersey Transit and Intersection announced in May.
Intersection has been New Jersey Transit’s exclusive advertising partner since 2004 and will expand its digital and static media products throughout the New Jersey Transit system, driving revenues for the transit agency through advertising.
