SRL Group LLC, a new company focused on software and professional services, has chosen Newark as its headquarters, joining New Jersey Institute of Technology’s Enterprise Development Center incubator at 211 Warren St.
Co-founder and CEO Jose Espinoza told NJBIZ that SRL Group is developing proprietary software to focus on the emerging field of referral marketing and online reputation management.
Three out-of-four patients that get a provider referral from a friend or family member will search online first to check out a doctor’s online reputation, according to David Brooks, co-founder and president, SRL Group. “Unfortunately, missing information or bad reviews can deter a patient from seeking care.”
“Word-of-mouth referrals are the most powerful source of new patients for health care providers,” said Brooks. “Despite a much lower cost and higher-quality outcomes, few practices have the tools to generate more referrals from existing patients.”
To address these issues, the SRL Group, is developing proprietary software and professional services to help medical practices increase new-patient acquisition from word-of-mouth referrals.
In first quarter 2019, the company will introduce a proprietary software platform to encourage patients to make referrals to friends and family members.
“Newark is the best place to launch our new software company,” co-founder and CEO Jose Espinoza told NJBIZ. “We get access to a strong, technology-based infrastructure and ‘one-stop’ transportation connections to anywhere in the Northeast Corridor. We can also tap into a great talent pool from NJIT, Rutgers and Seton Hall. Best of all, rents are a fraction of those in Manhattan, Jersey City or Hoboken,” Espinoza said.
The Enterprise Development Center (EDC), located on the campus of New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), is a cooperative and resourceful ecosystem for startups and small businesses.
