Crossroads Companies LLC will construct a new 79,540-square-foot Inserra ShopRite at the Wayne Hills Mall after signing a long-term ground lease with mall owner Levco Associates.

Building construction will start in spring 2019, after a vacant retail building on the site is demolished. ShopRite will move from its current location at Regency Center’s Plaza Square at 625 Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne.

“The relocation will provide the Township of Wayne’s [approximately] 55,000 residents with a brand new, larger store with upgraded amenities while keeping the same ShopRite brand that customers have grown to love and trust,” said Steve Hittman, CEO of Mahwah-based Crossroads.

The project is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving 2019. The township’s Planning Board originally approved redevelopment plans for the property in 2016.
