Trial attorney Joseph D’Avanzo has joined Hackensack-based Pashman Stein Walder Hayden as managing partner of its office in Purchase, N.Y.

This expands the firm’s litigation practice in New York to Westchester and Rockland counties and the five boroughs.

D’Avanzo has argued appeals on behalf of companies and individuals in both federal and state courts, as well as served as lead counsel for corporations such as IBM, UPS and Perrier.

“Joe brings a wealth of experience in mass tort and class-action litigation, including matters where scientific and medical issues of causation are contested, and as his adversaries know, he is a top-notch trial lawyer with an impressive string of victories,” said Sean Mack, co-chair of the firm’s litigation practice, in a prepared statement.

D’Avanzo joins Pashman Stein from the White Plains-based law firm Ledy-Gurren, Bass, D'Avanzo & Siff LLP.
