Urban Engineers selected for $4.4M Trenton-Mercer Airport improvements

Cherry Hill-based Urban Engineers has entered into a contract with Mercer County to be its consultant in the design phase of improvements at Trenton-Mercer Airport in Ewing.

The contract is not to exceed $4,461,570, according to Urban, which will guide the county through the process of investigating sites, developing an environmental assessment, and providing preliminary design for a new passenger terminal.

Preliminary design phase includes associated projects such as airside aprons and roadways, landside roadways and a new parking garage.

Urban’s New Jersey-based sub-consultants for the agreement include Pennington-based Saphire + Albarran Architecture LLC; Hamilton-based Advanced Infrastructure Design; Flemington-based Amy S. Greene Environmental Consultants; Somerville-based environmental consulting firm JM Sorge; and Hamilton-based Van Cleef Engineering Associates.

Urban Engineers’ aviation division has provided airport planning, design, and construction management services since its inception. The company has provided engineering design for various airport terminal and aviation facilities.
