Real estate and construction lawyer Ellen Harris has joined Norris McLaughlin PA as senior counsel in its Bridgewater office.
Harris spent 12 years as Newark Housing Authority’s chief legal officer, handling the acquisition of hundreds of properties and subsequent relocation of thousands of people. In her more than 25 years of experience practicing law in Newark, she’s had a hand in the city’s renaissance.
“It’s very rewarding when I ride by — I remember when it was just plans on a piece of paper. To see it come to fruition is very rewarding,” Harris said.
Harris’s experience includes the negotiation and creation of comprehensive agreements for construction projects, redevelopment agreements with private parties and lease of facilities projects.
“I look forward to lending my skills to the private sector so that their navigation through approval processes and what have you will be smooth and efficient,” she said.
