Covanta completes $45M Fla. acquisition

Covanta Holding Corp. has completed its acquisition and taken over operations of two waste-to-energy facilities in West Palm Beach, Fla., bringing its total in the state to eight.

The Morristown-based sustainable waste and energy company announced the deal’s completion Tuesday following an initial announcement of intent Aug. 9.

For $45 million, Covanta purchased a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc., which had been providing operations and maintenance services to two Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County centers.
