Part owner of High Times brands joins NJCBA board

By ,

Cannabis industry veteran Nicholas Zitelli has joined the board of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association, it was announced Friday.

Zitelli is CEO of Applied Cannabis Sciences of New Jersey, a group with medical marijuana dispensary licenses across several states and an applicant in New Jersey. Additionally, he is part owner, director and chief cannabis officer of New York-based Trans High Corp., the parent company for all High Times brands.

“There are fewer people in the country — perhaps on the planet — who have a better understanding of cannabis and the cannabis industry than Nicholas Zitelli,” said NJCBA President Scott Rudder in a prepared statement.

Zitelli has penned hundreds of articles on cannabis over the years and in 2014 founded Cannabis Genetics Institute in Holland, which focuses on breeding ailment-specific strains of medicinal cannabis.

“Nicholas makes NJ CannaBusiness’ board that much stronger and he will be a crucial asset as we work towards recreational cannabis legalization and medical cannabis expansion,” said Rudder.
