By ,

Just Beclaws and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command have each signed on for five-year leases at the base of the Courtyard by Marriot, located at 858 Broad St. in Newark, JLL announced.

JLL Senior Vice President Marta Villa and Associate Blake Shanaphy represented the building owner, an affiliate of Tucker Development Corp., in the deals.

Jersey City restaurant Just Beclaws, opening its second location in Newark, will occupy 5,318 square feet on the ground level at the hotel. The restaurant was represented by Charles Du of Century 21 Main Street Realty.

The U.S. Army Recruiting command was represented by an affiliate of Tucker Development in-house, in its deal for 3,500 square feet on the southeast side of the hotel.

The Courtyard by Marriot hotel, completed in 2012, was the first new hotel constructed in downtown in Newark in over three decades.
