The Scripps Howard Foundation has awarded $1,250 to Lakewood’s Strand Ventures and historic Strand Theater.

Theater Board member Andy Slater facilitated the donation through a grant program offered by New York City’s Midroll Media, where he serves as vice president of advertising partnerships.

“When I saw the opportunity for the Scripps Howard Foundation to offer grants for what we’re passionate about, it got me motivated to see how I could help the Strand,” Slater said in a release.

Scripps Howard Foundation supports nonprofits to which employees of E.W. Scripps Co. donate their time and money.

Midroll Media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of E.W. Scripps Co.
