Two New Jersey locations of Carlo’s Bakery – made popular by Buddy Valastro of TV’s “Cake Boss” – have closed in 2018.

The latest came July 31 when the Carlo’s location in Red Bank shuttered. This follows the April closing of its store in Westfield.

It is not clear why the Westfield location closed, but the Red Bank location’s lease was up.

“With Buddy exploring a new strategy to create a dining and bakery experience for guests and fans alike, it was determined the space [in Red Bank] could not host the new concept,” Carlo’s Bakery spokesperson Nicole Valdes said via email.

The company has plans to open two new establishments in Texas this fall, but it hasn’t forgotten about New Jersey.

“We look forward to introducing a new model featuring both savory and sweet in communities throughout the United States – including New Jersey, of course,” Valdes said.
