Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla forms cannabis law group

Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla has started a cannabis law practice, co-chaired by Paul Colella and Patrick Convery.

Colella focuses his practice on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business law. Convery focuses his on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, business transactions, and financing matters.

“We have deep experience in corporate and business, real estate, environmental and other areas of the law, and providing counsel on cannabis-related matters is second nature to us,” Convery said in a statement. “We know the terrain.”

The Red Bank-based firm represents one of the state’s six medical marijuana dispensaries in business and regulatory matters. Its cannabis group will advise clients on a broad range of issues facing cannabusiness, including business formation, legislative strategy, employment practices and government investigations.
