Summit Medical Group Foundation’s annual gala fundraiser, featuring late night talk show host and former Saturday Night Live star Seth Meyers, pulled in more than $1.35 million, surpassing the $1 million mark it raised last year.

The event was held at The Grove in Cedar Grove on May 12. The event also introduced a new patient fund for cancer patients and their families that will be part of SMG’s new cancer center. Money was raised through a silent auction of items donated, including an $8,000 dinner from a private chef and a $10,000 Caribbean vacation package.

“For the fifth year running, we are once again proud and thrilled to be able to bring you an exciting event filled with entertainment – and all to benefit our community members in the greatest need,” said Joe Finocchiaro, SMGF executive director. “This year we are aiming even higher in order to raise the funds necessary for those who are truly committed to education in medicine, free screenings and mentorship programs.”
