Rowan College at Burlington County trustees have appointed Acting President Michael Cioce as the college president, effective Sept. 1.
Cioce joined the college in 2010 as director of the financial aid office. Since then, he has been executive director of enrollment management and vice president of enrollment management and student success. He previously worked in the Office of Enrollment Management at Drexel University.
Cioce has been acting president since August after then-college president Paul Drayton took an administrative leave of absence when a college employee filed a complaint against him with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Drayton resigned in April 2018, citing health reasons.
Since Cioce was acting president, the college has achieved three consecutive semesters of enrollment increases. The college offers a 3+1 program through which its students take junior-year courses toward their Rowan University degree. This spring, the college expanded access to affordable higher education by adding education to the 3+1 program, which joins biology, nursing, psychology, liberal studies, computing and informatics, and law and justice.
