Uber debuts Express POOL service

By ,

Ride-sharing company Uber debuted on Thursday in select New Jersey locations with Express POOL, a less expensive service than other Uber options.

With Express POOL, customers walk a short distance to be picked up and will walk a short distance once they are dropped off. Express POOL gives rides to multiple customers in one car simultaneously. The service is being rolled out in several densely populated areas, including Hudson County, Newark, Elizabeth, and parts of Essex and Bergen counties.

When Express POOL is selected in the Uber app, Uber will give the customer walking directions and an estimated time of pick up.
