Four acclaimed individuals whose contributions to the City and people of Jersey City represent the pinnacle of excellence in the areas of the arts, innovation, service, and legacy will be honored with Jersey City Leadership Awards at a celebration presented by the New Jersey City University Foundation on Thursday, June 7, 2018.
Rooted in the fundamental premise that bettering the quality of life for those who live, work, play, and study in Jersey City is a noble pursuit, the Jersey City Leadership Awards were conceived to honor, promote, and encourage exemplary efforts by individuals and organizations who have made and continue to make exemplary contributions to Jersey City.
The celebration at Liberty House in Jersey City will honor — Jersey City Mayor Steven M. Fulop, Angelo J. Genova, Esq., Stefania Panepinto, and the late Thomas Stanton, Jr. — for the tremendous impact they have had on Jersey City and their efforts to positively transform the Jersey City community.
NJCU President Sue Henderson announced the Jersey City Leadership Award recipients, saying, “We are proud to salute our outstanding honorees for their vision, achievements, and continuing commitment to advance their areas of expertise on behalf of Jersey City.”
Dr. Henderson added, “We also celebrate NJCU’s nine decades of achievement and deep connection to this diverse city of opportunity. Since 1927, this University has been an integral part of the Jersey City community. NJCU affirms – as do those we honor – a strong desire to ensure that Jersey City continues to thrive and grow.”
NJCU Foundation’s mission is to support New Jersey City University as it transitions to become a nationally recognized leader in urban public education while maintaining its commitment to transforming the lives and livelihoods of its diverse student body. The four inaugural recipients of the Jersey City Leadership Awards set the bar high for both professional and personal contributions to our community.
The NJCU Foundation salutes the 2018 honorees, and thanks them for their vision and contributions to Jersey City.
