Murphy appoints new diversity chief

Gov. Phil Murphy has appointed Hester Agudosi, the current director of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Public Contract Assistance at the state’s Department of Environmental Protection, as the state’s chief diversity officer.

Agudosi will be responsible for overseeing employment policies, practices and department programs to ensure fairness and consistency with the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity policy.

Prior to her role at the NJ EPA, Agudosi served as chief of the Prosecutors Supervision and Coordination Bureau and chief of the Office of Bias Crime. In her role with the Prosecutors Supervision and Coordination Bureau she was responsible for overseeing county prosecutors, police departments and medical examiners, as well as the prosecution of hate crimes.
