M&T awards $985,000 to revitalization projects

By ,

M&T Bank has awarded $985,000 in tax credit funding to four nonprofit organizations that provide affordable housing resources throughout New Jersey.

Through the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program, organizations serving low and moderate-income neighborhoods receive funding for revitalization projects to better their communities.

Organizations awarded the funding include Paterson-based New Jersey Community Development Corp. to continue renovation of its education and training center; Jersey City-based Garden State Episcopal Community Development Corp. for the development of affordable housing and expansion of youth programs; New Brunswick-based Unity Square for the creation of affordable housing and beautification of local parks; and Asbury Park-based Interfaith Neighbors to invest in affordable housing and a women’s shelter.

“Our bank can only do well when we help our customers and communities succeed and investing in the NRTC program is another way we can support neighborhoods across New Jersey,” M&T Bank Regional President Tom Comiskey said. “M&T Bank has worked with each of these organizations in the past, and we are happy to continue to deepen our relationships with partners who provide critically needed support to New Jersey’s neighborhoods.”
