Patent-law veteran Marcella Bodner has joined Cole Schotz’s growing Intellectual Property arm as special counsel.
Her nearly 20 years of experience includes preparing and prosecuting patent applications, assessing the patent potential of new inventions and studying patent landscapes. She has appealed rejections before the United States Patent and Trademark Appeals Board, and defended third-party oppositions at the European Patent Office.
“Marcella is a valuable addition to the firm’s IP team,” said David Kohane, co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, in a statement. “Her broad science and technology background and experience in prosecuting patent applications inside and outside the United States will enhance our ability to assist clients with developing effective intellectual property strategies.”
She joins the 90-year-old firm’s Hackensack location. Last month, William Stroever joined the Hackensack office as partner and co-chair of the Intellectual Property group.
