Rutgers solar car team secures financial sponsor

By ,

Conti Solar, an energy company based in Edison, has become a financial sponsor of Rutgers University’s Solar Car Team.

Established in 2011, the Rutgers Solar Car Team students are working to design and build a fully functional, street-legal, solar-powered car. The battery-electric vehicle will be powered entirely by solar cells in the vehicle.

They intend to race the car in the American Solar Challenge, which spans more than 1,700 miles over nine days in a multistage race. The challenge hosts teams in a race of strategy, endurance and engineering.

Conti Solar is a developer, designer and installer of commercial and utility energy systems.

A part of the Conti Group, Conti Solar invests in its employees to ensure they can grow and adapt to an ever-changing industry. The company is excited to extend that investment to encourage local engagement in the solar industry.
