Continental Plaza in Hackensack is seeing a 15% uptick in occupancy over the past 18 months, following $15 million in upgrades.

The improvement plan at 401, 411 and 433 Hackensack Ave. was implemented by property owners Capstone Realty Group and JD Cos.

Capstone and JD purchased the 12-acre property in 2016. Amenities added to the three towers include: redesigned lobbies, exterior seating areas, touch-screen elevators, new health and fitness centers, co-lab space, a 90-seat conference room, on-site dining options and two private dining rooms, parking garage with security monitoring and gates, and energy-efficient HVAC systems, among others.

The involvement of JD Cos. bookends the history of Continental Plaza: James D’Agostino Sr., father and grandfather to current JD leadership working on the project, initiated construction of the property in 1969.

Leases in excess of 100,000 square feet have been signed at the 650,000-square-foot complex; MRH has been retained as the leasing agent.
