Morristown Medical Center, a part of Atlantic Health System, will open the Atlantic HPV Center for Head and Neck cancers.

The new center will be overseen by Dr. Erik Cohen, director of head and Neck Surgery for the Leonard B. Kahn Head and Neck Cancer Institute at Morristown Medical.

Cohen said in an email that the new facility will focus treating head and neck cancers such as paranasal sinus and nasopharyngeal cancers, as well as skull-based tumors such as chordomas and chondrosarcomas.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, roughly 13,200 men are diagnosed with head and neck cancers each year. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility will be held on March 21.
