Cooper Health promotes two, expands role of CEO

By ,

Cooper University Health Care has reorganized its leadership by promoting Kevin O’Dowd and Anthony Mazzarelli to co-presidents to run the day-to-day operations of the hospital, while CEO Adrienne Kirby will also take on the title of executive chair.

O’Dowd joined the health system in 2014 and served as chief administrative officer. Mazarelli was chief physician executive and joined 20 years ago.

O’Dowd will work on business and organizational developments and existing business partnerships, while Mazarelli will work on quality and patient safety. Kirby’s new role will involve evaluating strategic partnerships and exploring growth opportunities for the health system.

“We recognize that, to continue to lead in a changing and challenging health care environment, we need to begin now to plan for the future. Today’s announcement is an important step in that process,” said George Norcross, chair of the system’s trustees board, in a statement
