More than 30,000 New Jersey homes, businesses lose power in Wednesday storm

By ,

More than 30,000 homes and businesses have lost power in New Jersey amid yet another winter storm.

More than 29,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers and 1,500-plus Public Service Electric and Gas customers had lost power by 11:30 a.m.

JCP&L customers can report an outage by mobile phone by texting REG to 544487 (LIGHTS) to get started. They will need their 12-digit account number and ZIP Code.

PSE&G customers can report fallen wires or power outages by calling 1-800-436-PSEG, logging onto www.pseg.com, or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG (47734). The utility’s website includes an Outage Map that’s updated every 15 minutes and displays the location and status of power outages in PSE&G’s service area.
