Celebrity chef and New Jersey native David Burke makes his way back to the Garden State this week with the multi-day soft opening of Drifthouse Restaurant at the Driftwood Cabana Club in Sea Bright.
Burke’s new restaurant will be located in the space currently occupied by Ama Ristorante.
“Like our family, Chef Burke has deep ties to New Jersey, and he values family and tradition,” said the Stavola family, longtime owners of the Drifthouse Cabana Club.
Burke has been featured on Iron Chef America and Top Chef Masters, and operates two other restaurants—Tavern62 by David Burke in Manhattan and BLT Prime by David Burke in Washington, D.C. At the Capitol location, he has cooked steak for President Trump and publicly denounced the rumor that the president puts ketchup on his steak.
Of his newest venture, Burke said in a statement: “It’s my goal to bring a true culinary experience to the Drifthouse Restaurant. A quality dining experience should be flavorful, beautiful and memorable, and that is what we will strive for every day.”
Drifthouse’s kitchen will be led by Executive Chef Robert Burke, whom [David] Burke called “a real treat to work with.”
A grand opening will be held sometime in March.
