McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter LLP, the No. 1-ranked law firm in New Jersey by number of in-state attorneys, according to NJBIZ’s “2018 Book of Lists,” has opened an office in Providence, R.I., it said Monday.
The Rhode Island office brings to 14 the number of physical locations maintained by the firm in nine states, including New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware and Florida.
The initial member of the Providence office is Paul Dwyer, who has joined the firm as a partner. In his 30-year legal career, Dwyer has directed the national litigation management for a Fortune 20 pharmacy chain; served as New England regional counsel for several corporate clients in asbestos litigation; and has represented insurers in federal and state courts, as well as before the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
“Our Providence office will provide New England’s third most populous city with access to MDM&C’s nearly 300 attorneys, and our deep expertise across a broad range of industries,” said Edward Deutsch, the firm’s managing partner, in a prepared statement.
