Certara acquires medical software company

Certara, a pharma-tech company based in Princeton, has acquired BaseCase Management in Germany, a company specializing in data-visualization software in the life sciences field.

Certara, a pharma-tech company based in Princeton, has acquired BaseCase Management in Germany, a company specializing in data-visualization software in the life sciences field.

BaseCase will become part of Certara’s Strategic Consulting Services division, as its main expertise is in health economics and outcomes research. Its interactive platform, designed to showcase how new drugs and medical devices deliver value to the health care community, will be leveraged across Certara’s pharmacometrics, mechanistic modeling and regulatory science platforms.

Certara specializes in advanced modeling and simulation technologies and consulting services to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies to optimize drug development and improve research outcomes. Its clients include global biopharmaceutical companies, academic institutions and regulatory agencies.

“We are looking forward to expanding the applications for BaseCase’s user-friendly, mobile communications technology,” said Thomas Kerbusch, president of Certara Strategic Consulting Services, in a press release. “BaseCase simplifies communication of complex data and models. Its interactive platform will enable pharmaceutical and medical technology companies to visualize model results and large, real-world datasets to make sound decisions quickly, within controlled communication cascades.”
