Stephen Waters has been inducted as the New Jersey Apartment Association’s board president, the organization announced today. Waters was inducted at the NJAA’s annual meeting on January 24 and will serve through mid-January 2020.
“The entire NJAA team is thrilled to work directly with Stephen,” NJAA executive director David Brogan said. “He brings with him a wealth of ideas and knowledge that will surely build upon the legacy of our previous leaders. A strategic thinker and exceptionally hard worker, Steve will continue to propel our association forward.”
Waters is the senior VP at Morgan Properties, a real estate firm based in King of Prussia, Pa.. According to the Apartment Association, the firm became the largest multifamily owner and operator in the state after the purchase of the 1,030-unit apartment community in Collingswood at the end of 2017.
As board president, he will focus on enhancing government affair efforts at both local and state levels. Water will also lead the executive director and government affairs team in the implementation of strategies that benefit the association and its members.
NJAA said it will actively lobby on housing policy and rent control.
