Developer Mack-Cali Realty Corp. has appointed industry veterans David Smetana and Nicholas Hilton as chief financial officer and executive vice president-leasing, respectively.
Smetana starts in April, succeeding Anthony Krug. Since 2001, Smetana has served as managing director and REIT securities analyst on Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Global REIT Securities Team. He previously worked on Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Special Situations Fund.
Hilton starts in February. Before Mack-Cali, he was a senior VP at CBRE, where he had worked for more than 13 years.
“Nicholas, who we’ve had the opportunity to work with while he was at CBRE, is one of the most talented brokers I’ve had the pleasure of working with,” Mack-Cali CEO Michael DeMarco said. “He is extremely knowledgeable about the waterfront and the New Jersey office markets and will help lead and enhance our leasing efforts across all of our office markets as we work to increase occupancy.”
