Price Rite Marketplace, a Keasbey-based grocery store chain with 65 stores in nine states, named Jim Dorey as its new president.

Dorey began his career at as manager of real estate at Wakefern Food Corp, the nation’s largest supermarket cooperative, of which Price Rite is a registered trademark. Since 2004, he has progressed through the organization, holding multiple management positions in procurement, where he supported both the frozen foods and dairy divisions. His most recent role was as executive vice president at Price Rite.

Dorey replaces Neil Duffy, who retired in October.

“Jim has consistently demonstrated the leadership traits and vision to position Price Rite Marketplace for success even in the face of major market changes, competitive challenges and a changing business landscape,” said Joe Sheridan, president and COO of Wakefern, in a statement. “It’s an exciting time for Price Rite as we refresh our stores with new décor and private label products, and Jim will help lead the company in this next step forward.”

Price Rite recently announced a revamp of its stores, modernizing their look and implementing a rebranding that includes new décor, signage, and private label products. Dorey will lead the rebrand as well as all other aspects of the business, including sales, merchandising, marketing, retail operations, human resources and corporate administration.
