Lukas & Berube Healthy Pet Market to open in Montclair

By ,

The farm to table movement of the last few years is making its way to pet food bowls in Montclair this Friday as Lukas & Berube Healthy Pet Markets celebrates its grand opening at 15 S. Fullerton Ave. The store aims to satisfy the growing demand for healthy, nutritious pet foods and unconventional pet products for the surrounding communities.

“In growing numbers, pet owners are placing greater emphasis on pet nutrition,” said Gregori Lukas, who co-owns the store with Marc Berube. “As a certified pet food nutrition specialist, I was surprised by the lack of fresh whole foods and premium pet accessories in the Montclair area and saw an opportunity to provide a solution.”

Lukas & Berube will offer alternative food options specific to the needs to dogs and cats, alongside freeze-dried, dehydrated and traditional canned and dry food. The store will also offer innovative leashes, bowls, toys and grooming supplies, with a focus on local and American-made products.

“As both a resident and pet owner living in downtown Montclair, it’s striking how pets are contributing to the quality of life here,” said Berube. “It’s only natural that the business district should be complemented with a nutritional pet store that many residents can easily access.”

Store hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. In early 2018, the retailer will also begin offering a home delivery service.
