Developer Woodmont Properties announced Tuesday that executive vice president and general counsel Stephen Santola has been named to Gov.-elect Phil Murphy’s transition team. Santola will serve in Murphy’s housing advisory committee.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the governor-elect’s Housing Advisory Committee,” Santola said. “I pledge to work alongside my industry peers to ensure that pressing issues, such as smart growth and transit-oriented development, receive a fair share of the new administration’s attention.”
Santola, a former mayor of Livingston, has served as chair of the Smart Growth Development Coalition and is a member of the board of trustees of New Jersey Future. In his role at Woodmont, Santola oversees legal affairs and entitlements, and plays a role in managing the development division, new business opportunities and corporate strategy.
Prior to Woodmont Properties, he was a partner at Lindabury, McCormick & Estabrook and specialized in real estate, land use, zoning and commercial litigation. He is a Colgate University alum and received his JD from Seton Hall University.
