Shore-based restaurant Bubbakoo’s Burritos is expanding its inland influence, serving up tacos and quesadillas at a new location on Route 22 in Somerville.
This is its third inland location and its 18th location statewide.
“I loved Bubbakoo’s food, and from a business perspective, I heard they were producing healthy numbers and had impressive systems in place,” said Jesse Allen, one of the location’s three co-franchisees.
“We came together and knew that we not only made a great team, but with Bubbakoo’s we will be able to produce a great product, provide great service and have a chance to give back to our community,” said Brandon Shamy, co-franchisee.
Amanda Taibe is also co-franchisee of the Somerville location.
This experience isn’t their first franchising rodeo: Shamy opened his first of three Smoothie King franchise locations at 22, and Allen and Taibe opened a Jersey Mike’s after respective careers in finance and interior design.
Along with serving up the usual suspects of burritos, bowls, salads and tacos, Bubbakoo’s keeps a faithful customer base with their Chiwawa: a cheese-smothered, panko-crusted fried rice ball.
Bubbakoo’s also offers 16 different protein options, including fried chicken, buffalo shrimp and batter-fried jalapenos, to name a few.
“As opportunities arise, we’ll continue to open new restaurants in neighborhoods where we can build additional bridges with local residents and introduce swarms of new customers to our innovative, completely customizable menu,” said Paul Altero, who co-founded the original Bubbakoo’s in Point Pleasant in 2008.
The Somerville location will be open Monday through Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., as well as Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
