Trenton-based Public Strategies Impact, a legislative advocacy organization, announced it has promoted William Maer and Joseph Simonetta to senior partners.

“Our firm’s three-decade history of being a premier bipartisan state and federal lobbying firm best serves our clients through both republican and democratic administrations. With the New Jersey gubernatorial election right around the corner, we are best positioned to continue to represent our clients unimpeded by changes in the political party that runs the State House,” Roger Bodman, PSI managing partner, said.

“Both Bill and Joe have distinguished themselves as proven leaders throughout their professional careers. Bill has worked in both the governmental and political arena for three governors, members of Congress, and the Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly. Bill’s Democratic credentials make him a true asset to our firm and client base.”

As a democratic strategist, Maer is a lobbyist and political operative with experience spanning more than 25 years. Currently, Maer is a advisor and strategist for the New Jersey Democratic State Committee and serves as chief spokesman for the Passaic County Sheriff.

"Joe Simonetta’s knowledge and relationships in New Jersey State Government makes him a player in almost every major public policy discussion,” Bodman said. “In his three decades at the firm, he has shown great leadership, and I look forward to him serving in a management position in the firm as a senior partner.”

Simonetta joined the firm in 1991 and has worked in political advocacy and association management for nearly 40 years. He served as legislative director, followed by chief of staff, at the mayor’s office in Trenton and legislative liaison for Assemblyman Francis McMannimon and Assemblywoman Helen Szabo.
