Developer HHG Development Associates was joined by New Jersey Economic Development Authority CEO Melissa Orsen and Trenton Mayor Eric Jackson on Wednesday at a ribbon cutting celebration that officially opened the first phase of the Roebling Center redevelopment.
Roebling Lofts, the first phase of the project, delivered 138 units ranging from 759 to 1,553 square feet at the site of the former Roebling Son's Co. factory.
“We knew that these apartments would appeal to a very special renter who appreciates Green features, deluxe finishes, and exceptional details,” Michael Goldstein, principal with HHG Associates, said. “We have had a tremendous level of interest and have even added more leasing staff to handle all of the move-ins and inquiries.”
Roebling Lofts was a $40 million redevelopment for HHG. The Roebling Center, upon completion, will deliver 170,000 square feet of Class A office space, 190 apartments and 37,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
The developer said it selected Pennrose to manage leasing and that it has seen a steady flow of move-ins since July 28 when it began leasing. Prices for a one-bedroom apartment start at $1,345.
