Gibbons P.C., a Newark-based law firm, announced Thursday that Robert L. Johnson has been named its new chief diversity officer and a director in the firm’s corporate department.
“Rob’s wide range of talents, interests and vision makes him exactly the right person to take the reins of our nationally recognized diversity initiative while also expanding his role in delivering the exceptional service that the clients of our highly regarded corporate department have come to expect,” Patrick C. Dunican Jr., chairman and managing director of Gibbons, said. “We are proud of his achievements and look forward to his upcoming efforts.”
Johnson, who joined Gibbons in 2007, is the firm’s second chief diversity officer.
In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s diversity initiative, and developing and supporting diversity platforms. His legal practice will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions, securities regulations, corporate governance, public finance and a variety of other corporate financial matters.
