Triple Play: 3 ways to use 'mindfulness' on the job

We asked Dave for three tips on how a company can use “mindfulness,” which helps staff members focus and be in the moment, to elevate productivity, engagement and job satisfaction.

Customize and be consistent

Engage a mindfulness resource, like Free Form Minds, to customize a plan for your company. Conduct group training but focus on face-to-face or Skype sessions to make it personal for employees. Be consistent and do not let the job interfere with weekly sessions.

Be mindful at work – and at home

Mindfulness works when it becomes part of one’s daily life. The ability to focus on the priority at hand propels an employee forward at work and improves their morale. A person who incorporates this into their personal and business life can more easily set work concerns aside and enjoy family time.

Start when stress is high

Timing is everything, and it works well to introduce the program during a time of high stress or pressure. Not only will those affected by the stress be more open, but it will help take their anxiety levels down and help them successfully move through the stressful period.
