The city of Hackensack recently announced it has awarded the naming rights to the city’s new Performing Arts Center to Hackensack Meridian Health.
The Hackensack City Council approved the 10-year agreement, which has a financial value of $150,000, with the exact terms still being worked out.
“We are very pleased and proud to see Hackensack Meridian Health make such a substantial contribution to the success of our wonderful new performing arts center,” Deputy Mayor Kathleen Canestrino said. “The PAC is a centerpiece of our downtown redevelopment program that is bringing great excitement, new business and revenue and significant benefits for our entire city.”
The 220-seat Hackensack Performing Arts Center is set to open in the fall after a $3 million renovation of the former Masonic Temple at 102 State St.
“Hackensack Meridian Health is proud to support the city of Hackensack’s downtown redevelopment,” Dr. Ihor Sawczuk, president of Hackensack University Medical Center, said. “The performing arts center is undoubtedly the perfect centerpiece for Hackensack’s revitalization. We believe this is a very exciting time for the residents and the businesses of the city of Hackensack. Together, we are creating a bright future.”
