Jersey Central Power & Light, a FirstEnergy Corp. subsidiary, announced Monday some changes to its leadership team.

According to the Morristown-based company, Mark A. Jones has been named vice president of operations and John Anderson has been named vice president of external affairs.

Jones will be responsible for operating and maintaining the company’s transmission and distribution systems. Prior to his appointment, he was JCP&L vice president of external affairs. He is succeeding Tony Hurley.

Anderson is replacing Jones in his new role, and will lead a team of 10 area managers and 21 customer support employees.

"Mark and John are proven leaders in the company and industry and will continue to build on the results we have achieved to deliver customers the safe and reliable service they expect and deserve," Jim Fakult, president of JCP&L, said.

Jones has more than 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry. Prior to joining FirstEnergy, he was at SD Myers.

Anderson joined JCP&L in 1993.
