Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop joined Jonathan Kushner of Kushner Real Estate Group and Jeffrey Kanne of National Real Estate Advisors at the ribbon cutting of the first tower of Journal Squared, a 1,838-unit, mixed-use complex in the heart of the city.
"Journal Square is a dynamic neighborhood that continues to grow in popularity among Jersey City locals as well as newcomers," Jonathan Kushner, president of the KRE Group, said. "We're delighted that Journal Squared's first tower is complete and ready for renters to enjoy."
The first tower, a 53-story, 538-unit mixed-use building, is the third-tallest building in Jersey City.
“Journal Squared exemplifies our focus on developing urban-centered real estate projects which enhance districts, create jobs and produce investment returns for our clients,” Jeffrey Kanne, CEO and president of National Real Estate Adivsors, said. “The development meets the demand for convenient lifestyles — direct mass transit connections into Manhattan commercial centers, with upscale amenities — at an attractive value for residents.”
When completed, Journal Squared will add 36,000 square feet of retail space to the city. The complex, which was designed by Hollwich Kushner and Handel Architects, will include three buildings and a pedestrian plaza.
Journal Squared will include 10,000 square feet of amenities, including a library, lounge, outdoor swimming pool, fitness center and a yoga studio.
The Marketing Directors will be the exclusive leasing and marketing agent for the complex.
