Event to focus on food processors and their workforce needs

New Jersey food processors are encouraged to attend The Food Industry Targeted Industry Partnership, or FoodTIP, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at the Flying Fish Brewery in Somerdale.

Hosted by the Rutgers University Food Innovation Center and the New Jersey Institute of Technology, with funding from the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development and the ManufactureNJ Talent Network, this workshop and brainstorming session will help to identify solutions to the industry’s most pressing workforce needs.

Attendees will work together to develop strategies for addressing the skills, talent and innovation gaps; creating career pathways within the industry; identifying training opportunities and state grants; and collaborating efficiently with other businesses, higher education and state officials.

A complimentary dinner and networking event hosted by the New Jersey Food Processors Association will immediately follow the collaborative food industry workforce training.
