American Dream developer Triple Five has another tenant for the megamall, on Tuesday announcing the Meadowlands project would house what it called the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere.

Nickelodeon Universe, created by the entertainment company best known for its children’s television network, would sit on 8.5 acres and feature rides and attractions based on such children’s characters as SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more.

“Based on the success we have seen with Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America, we are excited to bring the No. 1 entertainment brand for kids to American Dream,” Triple Five President Don Ghermezian said in a prepared statement.

Triple Five said the park would break records with its state-of-the-art rides, and offer live shows, retail, games and more.

“Long-term strategic partnerships between Triple Five and Nickelodeon is a win-win,” Ghermezian said. “Together with Nick, we understand how powerful our brands can be in reaching and delivering a global audience.”
