Vitamin Shoppe Inc., the Secaucus-based retailer and maker of nutritional products, has hired a former Family Dollar executive as its new chief operating officer.
Jason Reiser, who will take on the role effective July 11, will have overall day-to-day responsibility for operational execution, including store operations, merchandising, supply chain and information technology, the company said in a news release.
“The hiring of Jason continues to strengthen our leadership team, and he will be a valuable addition to the already experienced and capable team we have assembled,” Colin Watts, the Vitamin Shoppe CEO, said in a prepared statement. “Jason is joining the Vitamin Shoppe at an exciting time, as we continue to move ahead with implementing our strategic plan.”
Reiser most recently was executive vice president, chief merchandising officer, for Family Dollar, which merged with Dollar Tree Inc. last year. He has more than 30 years of experience in retail management and merchandising, and is a trained pharmacist. His retail executive experience also includes time at Walmart and Sam’s Club.
