Thomas Considine, a former New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance commissioner, and briefly the CEO of Meadowlands Hospital Medical Center in 2014, was recently named CEO of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators.
The organization recently held the annual meeting of its executive committee in San Antonio.
“NCOIL is delighted that Tom is willing to lead NCOIL as our first-ever chief executive officer,” said NCOIL President and Indiana State Sen. Travis Holdman. “I believe Tom will transform NCOIL. He is a proven leader that will grow the organization and create new opportunities.”
Considine was also previously chief operating officer at MagnaCare.
“I am honored to join NCOIL,” Considine said. “I remember a very vibrant NCOIL leading on insurance policy issues, working closely with the (National Association of Insurance Commissioners), well-attended by legislators, regulators, industry and consumer groups. When the elected leadership decided to change from an executive director model to a CEO model for a new, more strategic, stronger executive role, I was delighted, and look forward to further strengthening NCOIL’s position in the financial services legislative and public policy arena.”
Considine will also continue with his consulting firm, Gravilaur Solutions LLC, which he founded in 2014.
