Faculty from N.J. colleges honored with inventor fellowships

The National Academy of Inventors announced its fellows for the 2015 calendar year earlier this month. The list of 168 featured seven faculty from four different New Jersey institutes for higher learning.

Collectively, the fellows of 2015 represent 5,638 issued U.S. patents.

The New Jersey-based faculty to have been awarded the fellowship are:

  • Atam P. Dhawan, New Jersey Institute of Technology
  • Somenath Mitra, New Jersey Institute of Technology
  • Kenneth J. Blank, Rowan University
  • Anthony M. Lowman, Rowan University
  • Richard H. Frenkiel, Rutgers University
  • Martin L. Yarmush, Rutgers University
  • Yu-Dong Yao, Stevens Institute of Technology

The induction ceremony for the fellows will be held April 15, 2016, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
