The New York Red Bulls and Southern New Hampshire University are teaming up to expand educational opportunities for both soccer players and students throughout the region.
Through the partnership, Red Bulls players will be able to pursue their education while continuing to play professionally. Meanwhile, students at SNHU will be able to access internship opportunities with the club. In addition, the two will create programs that increase community educational opportunities, including a scholarship to SNHU for a community member.
“We are thrilled to have Southern New Hampshire University on board as our official education partner,” Red Bulls General Manager Marc de Grandpre said in a prepared statement. “As a proud alumnus of the school, I know it provides a first-class experience for students and that it is the same experience we strive to deliver to our devoted fans in the community.
“Education has been, and will forever be, a key component of our youth programs. Having a partner that values learning and development will be very impactful on our entire organization.”
SNHU also is involved in a larger partnership with Major League Soccer and the Kicks for Kids program, including sending a group of students from the George Washington Carver School in Newark to an upcoming Red Bulls game.
SNHU has more than 70,000 students nationwide.
