Role model: “My maternal grandmother, Florence DeRosa. At age 40, she started custom-building homes in Bergen County. I would accompany her on the job and spent a lot of time jumping in and out of foundations, picking out wallpaper and choosing paint colors.”
What do you wish someone had told you when you were first starting out in business? “That it is OK to ask for help, in both your professional and personal life. It can be hard, as someone who started a business from scratch, to let go of certain responsibilities. This is why it is of the utmost importance to hire talented people, provide them with excellent training and delegate the work effectively.”
