Achievements: Helping to develop a five-year plan to boost capacity, productivity and funding for New Jersey SEEDS, which provides educational opportunities for high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds; serving on the board of Westbeth Center for the Arts and Art & Remembrance; leading one of the most successful fundraising campaigns for The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where she worked from 2000 to 2011.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, American University; master’s degree in instructional systems, Columbia University.

Go-to stress buster: “There’s nothing as cathartic as a great laugh with colleagues.”
What change would make workplaces friendlier to work-life balance? “I’d like to see genuine shared agreement that, except for emergencies, emails delivered after 9 p.m. really don’t have to be answered until morning.”
What do you wish someone had told you when you were first starting out in business? “Careers take twists and turns. They’re not linear. Sometimes, moxie is as good as experience. Push hard at your boundaries, and enjoy the ride.”
